Perhaps it was because I just couldn't see myself growing old, or because I related to characters in plays who seemed to shine so brightly, but I really always thought I would die young. I also thought I’d have more children. And now it occurs to me - what would have happened to all those children if I’d died young? It’s for the best that neither of those is the case.
On a more serious note, it was always my dream from a very young age to be a mother. So many of my friends said they didn’t want kids, or to be a mother, or they weren’t sure. Not me. I've always known for certain God called me to be a mother. It sure took me a long time!
What they say is true: it is the hardest, most rewarding job there is. The other thing they say is also true: the days are long, but the years fly by. What a ride this motherhood journey is. I'm thankful to have Eddie as partner, playmate, and co-parent. I cannot imagine raising these boys, or doing life without him. I am blessed beyond measure!
